It’s a month of new team members for Topodium Group as we welcome another apprentice! We’re delighted to introduce our new Creative Design Apprentice, Luke Robison.

Creative Design Apprentice

Luke really impressed us with his self-taught talents and natural creative ability. With a passion for graphic design and photography, Luke has been curating his own Instagram channel displaying his work, more recently in the world of sports.

Joining the Topodium Group team, Luke has hit the ground running by getting involved in a number of creative projects; from video animation to social media graphics, and that’s just the start! Luke is excited to develop his creative design skills further and to work with our fantastic variety of partners in the sports, health, fitness and leisure industries.

Welcome to the team, Luke. Tell us a bit about yourself.

Hi, I’m Luke, 20 years old and come from Alton!

I’m an aspiring Creative Designer who likes to constantly keep busy during my spare time. I love to stay active, both playing football and going to the gym, as well as running and hope to be able to complete a half marathon this year!

I also have a passion for landscape photography and hiking, which go hand-in-hand.

What interests you about a career in creative design?

What interests me most about this career is the ability to learn and build on the knowledge I have taught myself using creative programmes such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I am really looking forward to working closely with partners in the future, and Topodium Group gives me the opportunity to work with some great sports and leisure brands.

What’s your favourite sport to take part in, and what’s your favourite to watch?

My favourite sport to take part in and watch is football.

I play as a winger for my local men’s Saturday League team Fourmarks FC, and support Southampton FC.

I like to go and watch Southampton play as much as I can at their stadium, St Mary’s.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received was “Life is full of peaks and valleys, but some peaks have valleys and some valleys have peaks”.

What three items would you bring on a desert island?

The three items I would bring with me on a desert island would be: a knife, a lighter and a small fishing boat. (Is a small fishing boat an item?)

What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

The thing that motivates me to get out of bed in the morning is knowing that I have the opportunity to both learn something new and make someone smile.

What’s your favourite sport or fitness brand, and why?

My favourite sports brand is Nike. I really like the design of their football apparel and everyday wear. The slogan “Just Do It” behind their brand is also very powerful and motivational.

Who are 3 people you want on your zombie apocalypse team and why?

The first person I would want on my zombie apocalypse team is my older brother Jack because he plays a lot of zombie games and has watched The Walking Dead, so I feel like he knows what he’s doing when it comes to dealing with a hoard of the undead!

The second person I would take with me is Ant Middleton because of his background and experience in the special forces. I would also imagine he has friends in the right places who could supply us with military weapons and vehicles.

The third and final person I would take with me is the YouTuber Colinfurze. Colinfurze has amassed a following of over 11m followers, uploading videos of himself making underground bunkers and other inventions. Due to his resourcefulness, I feel like he could help in tight situations and create useful tools for defeating zombies.

What are you most looking forward to learning in your apprenticeship role?

What I’m looking forward to learning the most during my apprenticeship is how to create motion graphics for partners, and how to use programmes such as Adobe XD to design and develop websites.

What do you make of Topodium Group and the team so far?

The team are super friendly, very helpful and have made me feel very welcomed. I’ve settled in very quickly!

What do you enjoy most about creativity?

What I enjoy most about being creative is the endless potential to materialise the ideas in my head, as well as drawing inspiration from multiple sources. In addition, it makes me really happy to see when people give positive feedback on my creations and suggestions on how it could be improved.

We’re delighted to welcome Luke to the team! Meet more of the Topodium Group team.
