The Topodium Group team is expanding, and we’re delighted to welcome our latest recruit – Creative Design Apprentice, Ross MacMillan.

Reporting to our Basingstoke office, Ross will look to support our current design team, whilst also learning on the job by undertaking an apprenticeship at Havant and South Downs College in Hampshire, UK.

Welcome to the team, Ross! How do you feel about joining the team?

Hi everyone, I’m really happy to be joining the team at Topodium as a Creative Design Apprentice. I’ve always had a strong interest in design and all things creative so the chance to learn and work in this role at Topodium really appealed and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in, learning a lot, and doing some great work.

What are your specific job responsibilities and what excites you most about this role?

I’ll be supporting the design team and taking on some of the workloads. I’m excited to learn and upskill, whilst creating some cool stuff for the group.

How do you see your role fitting into the overall goals and objectives of our company?

Topodium Group seems to be thriving and expanding at a fast rate so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and getting on this journey with the guys!

Can you share any relevant experience or skills you bring to the table that will benefit our team and clients?

Coming into the apprenticeship a bit older than some of the team, I have experience studying/working in UI/UX design and previous work in content management, so I’m sure I can share my knowledge and skills in this. I enjoy working with people so the chance to liaise with the team and clients day to day will be great.

What are your long-term career goals and how do you see this role helping you achieve them?

Taking this apprenticeship is a great chance to get working in a creative design role, and working within an agency environment is a great way to test myself and learn. I see myself progressing into a creative role within design, so this is a great start for me.

How do you plan to collaborate with other team members and contribute to the company’s culture?

Everyone seems really friendly and a great bunch so looking forward to getting to know everyone more, become part of the team and learning from them.

Are there any challenges you anticipate in your new role and how do you plan to overcome them?

I need to brush up on my illustrator skills and just get more familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite in general. But practice makes perfect and youtube is going to be my teacher (along with Charlie, Luke, and Tom.)

Can you share any interesting or unique hobbies or interests that you have outside of work?

I’m quite sporty, play football/futsal weekly and enjoy tennis and cycling when I can. I’m a life-long fan of Reading Football Club, enjoy all things arty, dance, and music, and a keen traveler. I’m a vegan of about 8 years and love animals!

What do you hope to achieve during your time with the company?

Do some great work, learn a lot and be a positive addition to the team!

And finally… three things you’d take to a desert island?

Access to Spotify, A football, and a boat 🙂

We’re delighted to welcome Ross to the team! Meet more of the Topodium Group team here.
