Donna Osher

At the helm of steering Topodium Group’s products and services in the Middle Eastern territories is the newly appointed Business Manager, Donna Osher. Donna has accrued an extensive background with all things health and fitness over her established career. From fitness instructing, to managing health clubs; her knowledge and expertise within this diverse industry is second to none, and the perfect addition to our new venture.

Welcome to the team, Donna. Tell us a bit about yourself.

Thank you, it’s so exciting to be a part of the team.

I started in the health and fitness industry in 1991 when I was living in Los Angeles, USA working as a personal assistant’. Venice Beach and Muscle Beach fascinated me, especially seeing young and old alike either roller-skating along, lifting weights, or taking a hip hop class on the beach. From seeing that, I thought, if they can do that and have fun, I could do this too!

This led me to become a group exercise instructor and personal trainer, and soon my passion for working with children both in private homes in Hollywood and teaching classes through fun, physical activity, my career took off. I am as passionate now 30 years later as I was when my career first took off. It’s such a varied and exciting industry!

Throughout my career I have been able to contribute and help others achieve their personal goals, encourage children to be active, improve their self confidence, motivate and mentor them to make a positive difference in their lives. That is something truly rewarding to me.

Since 1991, I have had incredible industry opportunities and experiences globally in the UK, USA and Israel. The list spans from being a national and international presenter at fitness conventions in the UK and Israel, to Fitness Manager of leading health clubs in the UK, to creating my own brand, training courses and programmes for the 3 month to teenage age group, to consultancy, and as one of a panel of experts in the world of kids and physical activity, health and education. It was so enriching and valuable to my development.

What has been one of your greatest highlights over the course of your career?

I would say the beginning of my career working at FitPro for Jane and Brent and the team, and as Andy Jackson’s (FitClub) right hand woman was really a key highlight. This became a defining time in the industry as a whole in the early 90’s where I was part of the launch of FitClub International and becoming a international presenter for FitClub.

The launch of Les Mills programmes in the UK is also another big highlight for me. As well as being a representative at many of the renowned conventions at Loughborough or Coventry. This enabled me to meet key figures in the industry, many of whom I’m still in contact with. I really cherish the ability that this industry provides in establishing long-lasting connections.

Also, the wacky fitness attire of the 90’s cannot be ignored along with the music, the hype, the passion and the great people in it.

What do you see as the biggest opportunities for sports, health and fitness, and leisure businesses in Israel for 2021?

Israel is renowned for being a ‘start-up nation’ and a ‘tech hub’ and there are so many incredible health, sports and leisure tech products already launched or in the pipeline.

It is a very exciting time in the industry, and as a whole in Israel. With peace and trade agreements that have now spread across the Middle East, this will now open up huge opportunities with the likes of Dubai, UAE, Bahrain and other countries around the region, in this ever growing industry.

What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?

When I am not working, you will find me doing my early morning power-walks overlooking stunning views of the ocean or at the gym lifting weights, networking or attending events, researching the latest in the health and fitness industry around the world, and fascinated at how health and sports technology is evolving… and feeling excited for the coming year!

What made you want to join Topodium Group?

The mission, core values and such a diverse range of services, backed-up by the leading experts in their respective fields.

Knowing first-hand the Founders’ longevity, reputation and knowledge in the industry and the passion is the same as mine. I would not have missed such an opportunity to be part of the ongoing growth of Topodium Group.

What’s your must read, watch or listen for professionals in the sports, health and fitness world?

The truth is, I like the diversity of listening to, reading or watching a variety of professionals in this industry, but for sure I enjoy a range of podcasts, webinars, and following inspiring, interesting and motivating figures.

In three words sum up how you feel about launching Topodium Group’s Middle East office in Israel.

Excited, motivated and  grateful for the opportunity.

I’m looking forward to opening up new and exciting conversations with my contacts and developing relationships where we can add value at every touchpoint.

We are extremely excited to welcome Donna to the team, and eager for the work she will carry out and bring to the fold. Meet more of the Topodium Group team.
